On 2nd December, a national heritage calendar "Young Ugandans on our Cultural Heritage" was launched at the National Theatre. The Calendar consists of ilustrations from young people depicting their understanding and appreciation of Uganda's Heritage.find here a copy of the heritage calendar.
With financial support from Prince Claus Fund, CCFU embarked on the production of publicity materials for the Community Museums in Uganda. The materials include: 12 mini-cataloguess for 12 museums; an overal publication on the expeirience and role of the Community Museums in Uganda accompanied by a film. These materials will act as a record of some of the artefacts that the selected Community Museums preserve and as a reference point for Uganda's Cultural Diversity. The materials will also highlight the importance and contribution of Community Museums to local development.
The civil suit against the demolition of the Uganda National Museum is still ongoing in the High Court of Uganda, On 1st December 2011, the last witnesses were supposed to testify however, our lawyer Mr. Rwakafuuzi was attending to another case in the East African Court of Justice in Arusha, Tanzania. A new date for the hearing will be communicated as soon as it is fixed.
CCFU actively participated and its director, Emily Drani, extended Uganda's invitation to host the 15th International Conference of National Trusts in Entebbe, from September 30th to October 4th, 2013 Click here to read on»

A general meeting to dicuss a way forward for the Uganda Community Museums' Association has been planned for the last week of January 2012. This meeting will be consituted by representives of the different Community Museums in Uganda. Once confirmed, the actual dates and venue will be communicated.
